P<\/em><\/strong>rato Piazza<\/strong> \u00e8 un\u2019area di grandi battaglie della prima guerra mondiale, dominata dal Picco di Vallandro<\/strong> (Durrenstein) e dal Monte Specie <\/strong>(Strudelkopf), quest\u2019ultimo proprio sopra al Lago di Landro<\/strong>. Le gite proposte sono panoramiche, interessanti non difficili seppure in alcuni casi lunghe e faticose.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

In Prato Piazza area has been taken place big first world war\u2019s battles, dominated by the Vallandro Peak and by the Specie Mount, which is located just above the Landro Lake. Proposed excursions are panoramic, interesting.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Area: Prato Piazza – 1) salita a Prato Piazza da Carbonin<\/strong> – (intera giornata – per tutti – quattro ore circa); <\/em>2) salita a Prato Piazza da Cimabanche <\/strong>(intera giornata – per tutti – quattro ore circa)<\/em>; <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

1)<\/strong> Percorso<\/em>:\u00a0 si giunge a Carbonin (la c.d. Cortina alta) dove si lascia l’automobile;<\/p>\n

– attraversata la strada (m. 1.451 s.l.m.) si prende il sentiero n. 37 (Alta via n. 3) carrozzabile, che comodamente nel bosco sale e giungendo al Rifugio Vallandro dopo due ore circa di salita (m. 2.040 s.l.m.)<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> Percorso: <\/em>si giunge a Cimabanche dove si lascia l’automobile.<\/p>\n

-attraversata la strada (m. 1530 s.l.m.) si prende il sentiero 18, che, costeggiando ed attraversando il Rio, sale dritto per la Valle dei Canopi, prima nel bosco, poi tra mughi su un sentiero ben tenuto, facilitato da ampi ripidi scalini (con una leggera esposizione) nella parte pi\u00f9 ripida; molto bello perch\u00e8 inserito in un contesto ancora incontaminato. Si giunge\u00a0 alla sella a 1.963 s.l.m. ; si prosegue sull’altipiano di Prato Piazza tra prati salendo ad uno dei Rifugi presenti (Rifugio Prato Piazza e Hotel Croda Rossa m. 1991 s.l.m.; Malga Prato Piazza m. 2048 s.l.m.; Rifugio Vallandro m. 2.040 s.l.m.) in circa due ore.<\/p>\n

Le opzioni: ci si ferma al rifugio per un meritato pranzo; ci si sdraia sui prati e si fa un pic-nic; dal Rif. Vallandro si dipartono le gite di seguito descritte. Sempre magnifico panorama sulla Croda Rossa, di cui si gusta anche l’arco naturale. Il ritorno \u00e8 per la medesima strada (circa 1 h, 45 min.)<\/p>\n

Valutazioni<\/em>: gite piacevolissime (la n. 1 si pu\u00f2 fare anche d’inverno) e panoramiche.\u00a0Da qui poi si dipartono le gite che abbiamo descritto prima: effettuata 1)<\/strong> 15.8.18; 2)<\/strong> 13.8.23; in quest’ultima occasione si \u00e8 saliti sul Monte Specie (vedi sotto)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Area:\u00a0<\/span><\/em>1)<\/strong> from Carbonin (the so-called high Cortina) where you leave your car; – cross the road (1,451 m a.s.l.) and take path no. 37 (Alta via n. 3) for carriages, which climbs comfortably in the woods and reaching the Vallandro Hut after about two hours of climbing (2,040 m a.s.l.) 2)<\/strong> from Cimabanche where you leave your car. -cross the road (1530 m a.s.l.) take path 18, which, skirting and crossing the Rio, goes straight up the Valle dei Canopi, first in the woods, then among mountain pines on a well-maintained path, facilitated by wide steep steps (with a slight exposure) in the steepest part. Very nice because it is inserted in an uncontaminated context. You reach the saddle at 1,963 a.s.l. ; continue on the Prato Piazza plateau among meadows going up to one of the three refuges present (Prato Piazza and Croda Rossa 1991 m a.s.l.; Vallandro 2,040 m a.s.l.) in about two hours. <\/span><\/p>\n

The options: stop at the refuge for a well-deserved lunch; you lie down on the meadows and have a picnic; the trips described below depart from the Ref. Vallandro. Always magnificent panorama on the Croda Rossa, of which you can also enjoy the natural arch. The return is by the same road (about 1 hour, 45 min.)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Evaluations: very pleasant trips (no. 1 can also be done in winter) and panoramic. From here the trips that we have described before depart: carried out 1)<\/strong> 15.8.18; 2)<\/strong> 8.13.23; on the latter occasion we climbed Monte Specie (see below).<\/span><\/p>\n

Area<\/span><\/em>: Prato Piazza \u2013 Monte Specie<\/strong> (intera giornata \u2013 gita per tutti \u2013 due\/tre ore circa di cammino (oltre al tempo per giungere a Prato Piazza). Non c’\u00e8 rifugio in vetta ma solo in partenza<\/em><\/p>\n

Percorso<\/span><\/em>:<\/p>\n

– a Prato Piazza si arriva 1)<\/strong> in automobile (oggi, 2018, in alta stagione, si giunge alla base e si sale con un pulmino; considerare bene quindi gli orari) all’Albergo Prato Piazza (1991 s.l.m.); per sentiero 37 si giunge in leggera salita per strada carrozzabile di circa 20 min al Rif. Vallandro (m. 2040 s.l.m.); 2)<\/strong> a piedi o da Carbonin per sentiero 37, o da Cimabanche per sentiero 18 (vedi commento di seguito)\u00a0 arrivando sempre al Rif. Vallandro (m. 2040 s.l.m.) di fronte al quale si trova un vecchio forte austriaco \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

– da qui: a)<\/strong> per sent. 34 camionabile si diparte in modo evidente dal Rifugio;\u00a0 si sale verso pascoli di alta quota fino alla Sella di Monte Specie o Strudelsattel (m. 2200 s.l.m.); b)<\/strong> per tracce di sentiero ben visibili, con attacco immediatamente dietro al Rifugio, si sale con via pi\u00f9 diretta e pi\u00f9 panoramica fino alla Sella di Monte Specie o Strudelsattel (m. 2200 s.l.m.);<\/p>\n

-alla sella il sentiero si biforca (sempre con lo stesso n. 34); si prosegue in questo caso verso destra e si sale fino alla cima del Monte Specie (=Strudelkopf) (300 m. di dislivello; m. 2307 s.l.m.), fino in vetta che si vede perfettamente sin dalla sella. Ritorno per la medesima via.<\/p>\n

Valutazione<\/span>: <\/em>Bell\u2019area panoramica \u2013 sulla cima (austriaca in guerra) resti della grande guerra e bellissimo panorama a 360\u00b0 dalle dolomiti di Sesto alle Tre Cime, Marmarole, Cadini, Cristallo, Tofana … e davanti sempre la Croda Rossa [effettuata 6.8.90 con salita da Cimabanche; il 14.8.23 con salita sa Carbonin; si consideri che in tali ipotesi si supera un dislivello complessivo di circa 800 metri in salita ed altrettanti in discesa].\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Area: Prato Piazza \u2013 Monte Specie (full day \u2013 tour for everyone \u2013 about two\/three hours of walking (in addition to the time to reach Prato Piazza). There is no refuge at the summit, only at the start <\/span><\/p>\n

Path: – Prato Piazza can be reached 1)<\/strong> by car (today, 2018, in high season, you reach the base and go up with a minibus; therefore consider the times well) at the Albergo Prato Piazza (1991 a.s.l.); along path 37 you reach the Vallandro Refuge (2040 m a.s.l.) on a slight uphill road for about 20 minutes; 2)<\/strong> on foot either from Carbonin on path 37, or from Cimabanche on path 18 (see comment below) always arriving at the Vallandro refuge (2040 m a.s.l.) in front of which there is an old Austrian fort.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

– from here: a)<\/strong> by sent. 34 truckable departs clearly from the Refuge; climb towards high-altitude pastures up to the Sella di Monte Specie (2200 m a.s.l.); b)<\/strong> for clearly visible traces of the path, starting immediately behind the Refuge, go up with a more direct and more panoramic route up to the Sella di Monte Specie (2200 m a.s.l.); <\/span><\/p>\n

-at the saddle the path forks (always with the same n. 34); in this case continue to the right and climb up to the top of Monte Specie (=Strudelkopf) (300 m. in altitude; 2307 m asl), up to the summit which can be seen perfectly from the saddle. Return by the same route<\/span><\/p>\n

Evaluation: Beautiful panoramic area \u2013 on the top (Austrian during the war) remains of the Great War and a beautiful 360\u00b0 panorama from the Sesto Dolomites to the Tre Cime, Marmarole, Cadini, Cristallo, Tofana … and always in front of the Croda Rossa [performed 6.8.90<\/em> with ascent from Cimabanche; on 14.8.23<\/em> with ascent from Carbonin;\u00a0<\/span>consider that in these cases there is a total difference in height of about 800 meters uphill and the same number downhill]<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Area<\/span><\/em>: Prato Piazza \u2013 Lago di Landro<\/strong> (intera giornata \u2013 quattro\/cinque ore circa di cammino oltre al tempo per giungere a Prato Piazza; occorre l\u2019attrezzatura da ferrata)<\/em><\/p>\n

Percorso<\/span><\/em>:<\/p>\n

– a Prato Piazza si arriva 1)<\/strong> in automobile (oggi, 2018, in alta stagione, si giunge alla base e si sale con un pulmino; considerare bene quindi gli orari) all’Albergo Prato Piazza (1991 s.l.m.); per sentiero 37 si giunge in leggera salita per strada carrozzabile di circa 20 min al Rif. Vallandro (m. 2040 s.l.m.); 2)<\/strong> a piedi o da Carbonin per sentiero 37, o da Cimabanche per sentiero 18 (vedi commento di seguito)\u00a0 arrivando sempre al Rif. Vallandro (m. 2040 s.l.m.).<\/p>\n

– da qui: a)<\/strong> per sent. 34 camionabile si diparte in modo evidente dal Rifugio;\u00a0 si sale verso pascoli di alta quota fino alla Sella di Monte Specie o Strudelsattel (m. 2200 s.l.m.); b)<\/strong> per tracce di sentiero ben visibili, con attacco immediatamente dietro al Rifugio, si sale con via pi\u00f9 diretta e pi\u00f9 panoramica fino alla Sella di Monte Specie o Strudelsattel (m. 2200 s.l.m.);<\/p>\n

-alla sella il sentiero si biforca (sempre con lo stesso n. 34); o si va a destra e si sale fino alla cima del Monte Specie (=Strudelkopf) (vedi gita che precede) o si va a sinistra si prosegue (Alta via n. 3) sul sentiero 34, si costeggia il Monte fino allo spigolo del versante nord; da qui il sentiero \u2013che in un punto \u00e8 esposto ed ha delle corde di sicurezza- scende fortemente verso la valle ed il Lago di Landro \u2013 si giunge (poco oltre il Lago) sulla statale Cortina-Dobbiaco all\u2019Hotel Tre Cime di Lavaredo \u00a0(800 m. di dislivello dalla Sella).<\/p>\n

Valutazione<\/span>: <\/em>Bell\u2019area panoramica \u2013 la parte pi\u00f9 impegnativa \u00e8 quella finale con il tratto attrezzato ed esposto \u2013 opportuna l\u2019attrezzatura \u2013 discesa molto ripida che termina in un lungo sentiero nel bosco.<\/p>\n

Area: Prato Piazza \u2013 \u00a0four\/five hours of walking (in addition to the time to reach Prato Piazza). \u2013 needs ferrata equipment <\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

-from there take the path no. 34: on the biforcation to the pass take left \u00a0(A.V. n. 3) and run along the Mount to the north slope; from there the path \u2013which is exposed in a point that is allested with a security cables- comes down strongly to the valley and the Landro Lake\u2013 you arrive (a bit beyond the lake) to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Hotel (800 m. drop in altitude from the pass). <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Assessment: nice panoramic area \u2013the most demanding part is the final one with the stretch allested and exposed \u2013 consider worthwhile the equipment \u2013 strong slope that ends in a long path in the forest.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Area<\/span><\/em>: Prato Piazza \u2013 Picco di Vallandro<\/strong> (intera giornata \u2013 cinque ore circa di cammino oltre al tempo per giungere a Prato Piazza; non c’e acqua, se non al rifugio);\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Percorso<\/span><\/em>: – 1)<\/strong> a Prato Piazza con l’automobile (oggi, 2018, in alta stagione, si giunge alla base e si sale con un pulmino; considerare bene quindi gli orari) – si parte dunque dall’Albergo Prato Piazza (1991 s.l.m.); 2)<\/strong> alternativa partenza o da Cimabanche o da Carbonin e poi da Prato Piazza si sale (si veda la gita che precede)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2013per il Picco la partenza consigliata \u00e8 dal Rifugio Prato Piazza, dal quale si prende il sentiero n. 40;<\/p>\n

-se per\u00f2 si \u00e8 giunti al Rif. Vallandro (per coloro che salgono da Carbonin) si prenda il sentiero carrozzabile 34, che si lasca ben presto per prendere sulla sinistra il sentiero 40A, che, dopo aver superato la Malga Prato Piazza, incontro il sentiero 40 che va dunque preso per la salita.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>-si giunge con ripida salita alla cima del Picco di Vallandro (m. 2.839, s.l.m. circa 850 m. di dislivello) \u2013 ritorno per il medesimo sentiero.<\/p>\n

Valutazione<\/span>: <\/em>Bell\u2019area panoramica \u2013 la conquista della cima costa fatica salendo per sentiero sassoso.<\/p>\n

Area: Prato Piazza \u2013 Vallandro Peak (whole day \u2013 four hours of walking (in addition to the time to reach Prato Piazza). <\/span>Route:\u00a0<\/span><\/em>1) to Prato Piazza by car (today, 2018, in high season, you reach the base and go up with a minibus; therefore consider the times well) – therefore we start from the Prato Piazza Hotel (1991 a.s.l.); 2) alternative departure either from Cimabanche or from Carbonin and then from Prato Piazza you go up (see the previous tour);\u00a0<\/span>\u2013 for the Peak the recommended departure is from the Prato Piazza Refuge, from which you take path no. 40; – if, however, you have reached the Vallandro Refuge (for those coming up from Carbonin) take path 34 for carriageable vehicles, which you soon leave to take path 40A on the left, which, after passing Malga Prato Piazza, meets the path 40 which must therefore be taken for the ascent\u00a0<\/span>to the Vallandro Peak (850 m. drop in altitude) \u2013 way back on the same path. Assessment: nice panoramic area- the peak conquest require some effort climbing the rocky path.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
